PP-TERMO – keeps heat inside!
PP-TERMO is a moisture-repellent building joint strip, which utilises the latest technology and is suited for all construction work. PP-TERMO meets even the strictest international insulation requirements and combines the best properties in one and the same product.
PP-TERMO is manufactured using well-researched and safe materials that have been successfully used as construction materials for decades. The amount of energy needed in the manufacturing process is low and the product can be recycled.
For all construction
Finnish PP-TERMO works great in most structures. It is suitable for use in log houses, stone houses, wooden houses, industrial halls, etc. Being a highly elastic and flexible insulation material, PP-TERMO lives with the structures and maintains its properties for decades, whatever the weather.
Breathing and insulating
Due to its specialty-fibre structure, PP-TERMO efficiently absorbs air within itself and thus has an excellent heat insulation capacity (up to 0.033 W/mK). When installed according to instructions, PP-TERMO meets the most stringent international insulation requirements while still maintaining a breathing structure.
PP-TERMO strongly repels water and does not absorb moisture. It enables the creation of a breathing structure without a vapour barrier for a house by transferring vapours and gases through the insulation without making the insulation material itself wet. It is not necessary to use additional insulation with the PP-TERMO building joint strip in order to repel inclined rainfall and pouring water. For example, in highly demanding conditions, where inclined rainfall attacks, for example, a log-structured wall and where a separate rubber seal or similar is required in addition to the thermal insulation, the PP-TERMO building joint strip is an excellent option.
Clean and safe insulation
While PP-TERMO meets international fire safety requirements (ISO 11925-2), it is also a non-toxic and dust-free joint insulation that does not cause any allergic reactions. It also has the best international M1 indoor air rating. PP-TERMO does not provide a bed for mould or micro-organism formation nor does the material attract micro fauna or pests.
A diverse range of applications
As a result of our development work, a diverse range of applications has been created for the needs of construction and industry, among others.
You can use PP-TERMO, for example:
- between logs as insulation/seal
- in prefabricated unit joints as insulation/seal
- between building blocks as insulation
- under the sill plate and over the damp proof course
- in sealing window and door frames
- in sealing old log buildings
- in studwork and between floor constructions
- under parquet
- as additional insulation in repair construction
- as insulation in log, stone and wooden houses and industrial halls
- in customised applications, e.g. industrial applications.
We utilise several manufacturing techniques in the manufacture of the PP-TERMO building joint strip, and this way we are able to provide a suitable product from our product range for every need. We cut the insulation strip into the requested sizes and shapes so that installation will be quick and easy
We guarantee fast and reliable deliveries across Finland by all methods of transport. Delivery terms and net prices for prefabricated house manufacturers and professional builders are agreed on a case-by-case basis. We also deliver products packaged brand-specifically.
We supply PP-TERMO thicknesses of 5, 8, 10, 15, 25 and 50 mm. Widths ranging from 10 to 2,300 mm are available.
Ten good reasons for choosing Finnish PP-TERMO
1. Excellent heat insulation capacity
The renewed thermo-fibre structure efficiently absorbs air within itself and thus has an excellent heat insulation capacity (0.033 W/mK).
2. Airtight and breathable
Due to its new and tighter structure, PP-TERMO meets the most stringent international insulation requirements. When installed according to instructions, the air permeability is under 0.05 (m³/msPa) while still enabling a breathable structure.
3. Moisture repellent
Due to the specially treated fibre, the building joint strip strongly repels water and does not absorb moisture. PP-TERMOLLA has an excellent moisture transfer capacity; it transfers vapours and gases without making the insulation material itself wet. That is why no vapour barrier is needed in the structure.
4. Versatile and suitable for most structures
The Finnish PP-TERMO is extremely well-suited for most constructions, such as log houses, stone houses, wooden houses and industrial halls. The building joint strip is also available in dead-wood grey.
Meets international fire safety requirements (ISO 11925-2).
6. Non-toxic and dust-free
The PP-TERMO building joint strip does not cause allergic reactions and is the only building joint strip that has been endorsed by the Finnish Allergy and Asthma Federation. The product also has the best international M1 indoor air rating.
7. Will not become mouldy or attract micro fauna
PP-TERMO does not provide any bed for mould or micro-organism formation, nor does it attract micro fauna or pests.
8. Elastic, light and quick to install
PP-TERMO is a highly elastic and flexible material that lives with the structures and maintains its properties from decade to decade. PP-TERMO is ready-cut into the required sizes and shapes. This makes installation quick and easy.
9. Utilises the latest technology
We utilise the latest technology in the development and manufacture of PP-TERMO.
10. Safe and well-researched
We develop the product in a close co-operation with prefabricated house manufacturers and VTT in order to guarantee that our customers receive well-researched and safe products. PP-TERMO is a high-quality Finnish Key Flag product.
